A Link Building Reseller Program Sold by the Hour

A link building reseller program lets your agency sell link building under its own brand, while a specialist does the prospecting, outreach and placements. Link Builders is that specialist. You keep the client relationship, set the price and keep the margin. I run the work myself, with custom AI agents doing the heavy prospecting and research, at $160 an hour. There are no per-link packages and no promises nobody can keep.

I’m Justin Davis. I’ve built backlinks since 2015. This page is for agency owners who want link building on their price list without hiring for it. The service details live on my white label link building page. This page is about packaging: how you buy hours, how you sell them and how to keep your brand in front of your client.

Reseller vs. White Label: Same Work, Different Framing

White label is about whose brand is on the work. Reselling is about how you package and price it for your clients. In practice they’re the same engagement: I earn placements under your brand, you bill the client.

If you’re comparing the service itself, what’s included, how outreach works and what stays hidden from your client, read white label link building for SEO agencies. If you’re deciding how to put hours on your price list and what your margin looks like, you’re in the right place.

White label stack: your client sees your agency, your agency brands the work, Link Builders runs outreach underneath

Ways to Buy

There are two ways to buy, and both are billed at $160 an hour. The full cards are on backlink pricing.

Option What you get Price
30 hours on Justin’s Machine

Standard start
Prepaid block, paid in full up front. About half the hours go to prospecting and vetting; the rest go to outreach and turning positive replies into placements. $4,800

30 × $160/hr
Ongoing hours More hours at the same rate once the first block is used, sized to your clients’ needs. $160/hr

Most new relationships start with the prepaid 30-hour block. About half of those hours go to prospecting and vetting; the rest go to outreach and turning positive replies into placements. Once that block is used, you buy more hours at the same $160 rate, sized to what your clients need next.

Publisher fees, when a publisher charges one, are separate and passed through at cost, with no markup. You see the number and approve it before it’s paid, so you can pass it to your client as it is or fold it into your own price.

How to Package Hours Into Your Own Offers

You don’t have to sell “30 hours of Justin.” You sell a result your client understands, and you fund the work with hours. Three patterns fit most agencies:

Common ways to sell it
  • Inside a monthly SEO retainer. Link building sits as a line item next to content and technical work. You draw hours as the month’s targets need them.
  • As a link building campaign. A named campaign for a launch, a competitive keyword set or a recovery push, scoped to a block of hours.
  • As an add-on for clients who already retain you. They keep their current SEO stack; you add off-site capacity without staffing it.

Hourly beats reselling per-link SKUs for the same reason I won’t price links one by one. A per-link price pays a vendor to walk past the expensive opportunity that would actually move rankings, because the margin on it is too thin. Hours remove that incentive. Nothing I charge depends on which link gets built, so the work goes after the best available opportunity, including sites that don’t sell placements at all.

That also means you can’t promise your client a fixed number of links by a date. You’re selling capacity and a process, not a quota. The link building process page shows every step, from consultation and prospecting to your approvals, placement and reporting.

Margin Math (No Sample Numbers)

Your margin is yours to set. The formula is simple:

What you bill the client − (hours used × $160) − any publisher fees you don’t pass on.

I don’t set a floor or a suggested retail price, and I never see your client-facing pricing unless you show me. Some agencies keep link building inside a larger retainer so the line never appears on its own. Others show it as a separate fee. Either way works; the math stays the same.

Onboarding in 5 Steps

From brief to branded report
  1. Send a brief. Target URLs, niches, any sites or tactics to avoid. If the client is confidential, send a competitor URL instead of theirs for the first prospect list. I don’t need their name until you’re ready.
  2. Approve the prospect list. Every site is vetted before outreach. You see the list and cut anything that doesn’t fit.
  3. Approve the outreach angle and content. Pitches and drafts go out under your brand. Nothing publishes without your say-so.
  4. I run outreach under your brand. Replies, negotiations and follow-ups stay in your name. You see every contact and every cost.
  5. You get a report you can rebrand. Every placement with its live URL and cost, plus who was contacted and who replied, ready for your logo or your own template.

Approval workflow: you approve every site and every piece of content before outreach or publishing

Reports You Can Rebrand

Every deliverable is built so your client sees your agency, not mine. The report covers what was contacted, what replied, what placed and what it cost. Add your logo, or paste the rows into the template you already use.

Because the report is built around those four questions, it slots into a monthly client update without rewriting. Your client gets a clear record of the off-site work they paid for, under your name, and you keep control of how it’s presented.

Confidentiality and Non-Solicit

Your client relationships stay yours. Outreach and reports carry your brand, not mine, and the worksheets and reports I deliver are for your use on your client’s project.

I never contact your clients unless you ask me to, and I don’t pitch them my own services, during the engagement or after it. If you want that in writing, I’ll sign your NDA or non-solicit agreement before we start.

If you send a competitor URL instead of the client’s site for the first prospect list, I don’t need to know who the client is until you’re ready to tell me.

What I Won’t Do, and Why

Hard no’s
  • No PBNs or link farms. Private blog networks and manufactured sites break under algorithm updates and put your client’s domain at risk. I won’t build on them, and I won’t buy them so you can resell them.
  • No ranking or link-count guarantees. Nobody controls Google, and a fixed link quota pushes the work toward the cheapest placement. I sell hours and a process, not a forecast.
  • No per-link packages. Packages priced per link create the wrong incentive. If you need a SKU on your rate card, price a block of hours or fold the work into a retainer.

White Label GEO, Same Terms

If your clients care about showing up in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews, the off-site part of that work is the same craft: earn mentions on the pages AI engines already cite. You can resell that under your brand the same way, at the same hourly rate. The scope is on my GEO agency page.

Link Building Reseller FAQ

FAQ
What is a link building reseller program?

It’s an arrangement where your agency sells link building to its clients while a specialist handles the work. You own the relationship and the pricing; I handle prospecting, outreach and placements under your brand.

Is reselling link building the same as white label?

Same work, different framing. White label is about whose brand is on the deliverables. Reselling is about how you package and price the hours for your clients. The service details are on my white label link building page.

Do you offer link building reseller packages?

Not per-link packages. You buy hours: a prepaid 30-hour block for $4,800, then more hours at $160 once that block is used. There are no price-per-link SKUs. If your rate card needs a package name, build it from hours or fold the work into a retainer.

How much margin can I make?

That’s yours to set. The formula is what you bill the client, minus the hours used times $160, minus any publisher fees you don’t pass on. I don’t set a floor or a suggested retail price.

Will my client ever see your name?

No, not unless you ask me to join a call. Outreach, content and reports carry your brand. I’ll also sign your NDA or non-solicit agreement before we start.

Is there a minimum?

The standard start is the prepaid 30-hour block. After that, ongoing hours are sized to your clients’ needs at the same rate. There’s no link quota, because you’re buying hours, not links.

What about publisher fees?

When a publisher charges a fee, it’s separate and passed through at cost, with no markup. You see the number and approve it before it’s paid.

Can I resell GEO work the same way?

Yes. Off-site GEO is the same hourly engagement, pointed at the pages AI engines cite for your client’s buyer questions. Details are on the GEO agency page.
